The only parts of this movie I enjoyed were the parts where nobody was speaking <:D
aughhhh!

The entire theater was silent ! Until the end, when all the real Avatar fans were complaining about the movie. :)
July 6th, 2010 at 1:23 pm
Ah man…that movie…I felt embarrassed just to be there. Sooo many things about it which were displeasing…They really could have made something cool with all the awesome material of the show, and yet they somehow failed completely :<
After the long drive home, my friends and I agreed we were to pretend the movie never happened.
July 6th, 2010 at 1:28 pm
Seriously the avatar show was better than the movie.
July 6th, 2010 at 1:29 pm
lol I kept telling all of my friends that the movie was going to be terrible when the commercials first started. No one believed me. Now everyone is watching it and just now discovering that it’s a terrible movie. lol
July 6th, 2010 at 1:45 pm
I am an active watcher of the show…and when I saw the movie I literally felt sorry for who ever made that movie…they didnt even say the same names!
July 6th, 2010 at 2:05 pm
I don’t think it was that bad and both my boyfriend and I watch the show. What bugged me was just how they pronounced the names and how ridiculous they made some of the poses, but other than that…
July 6th, 2010 at 2:19 pm
my reaction exactly lmao.
Cute comic!!
July 6th, 2010 at 2:34 pm
HAHAHAHA!! I really wanted to watch the movie after starting to watch the series but the Internet has fully changed my mind. :D
July 6th, 2010 at 2:42 pm
I’m sorry you had to pay money to see that awful movie! The casting and reviews kept me far, far away, haha.
July 6th, 2010 at 2:54 pm
Damn, when I heard there was an Avatar movie, I turned crazy. Now I’m no sure I want to see it :/
July 6th, 2010 at 3:26 pm
I watched neither the movie or show, but I do frequent your site and enjoy your cute comics!
July 6th, 2010 at 3:29 pm
I could tell from the previews the movie was gonna suck! The show is great but the movie looked horrible!!!
July 6th, 2010 at 3:35 pm
I’m going to go sometime with my two friends that watch avatar to make fun of it. >,<
July 6th, 2010 at 3:42 pm
I loved the show. And I now know without a doubt the movie will suck. But I still gotta see it. D:
Also, I love that Toph even went… what, with the blindness and all. lmao
July 6th, 2010 at 4:05 pm
I’m glad I skipped out on this movie and went to Karate Kid instead. Waaaay better :3
July 6th, 2010 at 4:47 pm
OH NO! I knew it would suck! Stupid M. Night Shyamalan his movies are never that great in my opinion. Someone awesome should have made that movie! DX I loved the cartoon. I seriously can watch re-runs every day of my life.
July 6th, 2010 at 4:49 pm
I love the show, and when the movie came out I thought it would be good, but everything about it was wrong. The characters were way to serious (in the show they are all jokers), whoever cast it didn’t do a good job, and they mispronounced the main characters name! Ugh I should have known not to have seen it. -.-
July 6th, 2010 at 6:20 pm
ZOMG. The blind jokes. I love them! x) The show was so epic and stupid. (Stupid in a good way of course.) The movie looked really bad. Appa looks so stupid in the movie. I am definitely NOT going to see it. :I But stop being so freakin’ awesome! The comic was super adorable.
July 6th, 2010 at 7:16 pm
That comic is so damn CUTE!!! Ahh you guys rock. The movie however does not. Of all the directors in the world, why why WHY was it Shyamalan that got to direct it? If they wanted an “ethnic” director they could have gotten Ang Lee or something! Imagine if Peter Jackson or Christopher Nolan or Steven Spielberg or hell…even James Cameron directed it. Pure box office gold right there.
July 6th, 2010 at 7:42 pm
I’ve really been wanting to watch the movie this weekend. But now, I’m pretty convinced that it’s that bad. I’ll still give it a try, though, and you know, see for myself how it is.
July 6th, 2010 at 9:21 pm
I wasted 13 dollars on that! It was liked I died and went to avatar hell! There was so much wrong that me and my friend who saw it with me said we were going to sue M. Night Shaymalan for personal anguish. The next day I told my mom about it and even though she doesnt watch it like I do, even she couldnt deny that it was awful. It sucked so bad Im still crying inside now.
July 6th, 2010 at 10:38 pm
The reason the names were pronounced funny was because Mr. M. Night thought it’d be best to do the “proper” Asian pronunciation of them, rather than what everyone else knows them as.
July 6th, 2010 at 10:53 pm
my mom actually LIKED that movie :C
July 6th, 2010 at 11:07 pm
ugh, what a horrible movie. and m. night didn’t -get- to direct it, he watched it with his kids, thought making it into a movie would be a good idea, and then couldn’t get anyone to help him. most of my soul died when i had to admit that even eclipse was far better than it. uuuuuugh.
your comics are adorable! ^3^
July 6th, 2010 at 11:08 pm
..Personally I’m just getting a huge laugh out of how many people I have seen complain about it. I knew from the time it was announced Avatar fans were going to be disappointed since mostly anytime a movie based off of a television show or comic, it sucks horrible. There are rare occasions where it’s the complete opposite like I feel Scott Pilgrim will be, hopefully, but if the first trailer comes out and it’s nothing like the original content I’ve learned to just give up hope then. >:
July 6th, 2010 at 11:36 pm
You know, it’s funny. Even Toph knew the movie wasn’t that good, what with her blindness and all. I can even imagine her doing that. Everything in the movie went by too fast and would have been confusing for those who haven’t watched the original show. Shyamalin didn’t even keep Zuko’s ponytail, Iroh’s fatness, or even the Kiyoshi warriors! Not even the part when Aang was covered in water shaped as a giant koi fish….Even more so that firebenders now need a source of fire in order to bend it, unless they were ‘masters’. And his excuse for the ‘mispronunciations’ was to make them sound more… Asian.. I’m glad I didn’t watch it in 3D at a not-as-popular-as-AMC theater, since tickets only cost 8 bucks each.
But, here I am, ranting on a site that’s supposed to be cute and hilarious, so I’ll stop the rant on Avatar. The comic is funny, and their expressions in the third panel is pricless, including Appa’s.
July 6th, 2010 at 11:49 pm
I loved the cartoons so much, man. Nice comic. I’m still gonna go see it later on this week, though. It looks ok. Well, I guess that some people just can’t direct movies worth sh*t.
July 7th, 2010 at 3:03 am
The movie was alright as far as movies go, but the fact that it had the potential to be awesome and very much wasn’t is just so disappointing. There was so much talking and explanations of this and that. The characters were underdeveloped and uninteresting. The acting was stiff and boring–all in the face and voice with next to no body language. It did not work well at all.
IN SHORT, the comic just about sums it out. Even the blind girl knows when bad things are going down! Of course, she could have just been bored from the simple fact that she wasn’t in the movie, but we all know better than that.
July 7th, 2010 at 7:02 am
This movie made me and my fellow Avatar friends die inside. Your comic is a welcome sight :D Our thoughts and wishes exactly :D
July 7th, 2010 at 9:49 am
Okay, I LOVE the cartoon series! I watched the entire show in order and laughed at all of Sokka’s jokes, Katara’s expressions, Zuko’s anger, Iroh’s “wise” sayings, Aang’s failed attempts at bending, and Toph’s sarcasm and beating of Aang. During the movie, I stared at the screen, occasionally banged my head on the seat in front of me, and nearly shouted at the screen “HIS NAME IS AANG!!! NOT UNG!!!” several times. However, I did manage to crack up with my friend when she said, “Iroh, not Eeroh. Sokka, not Soka. It’s AANG, not Ung!” She totally agreed with me, and we didn’t even have to talk to each other to agree on it. Afterwards, we just pointed out all the mistakes we could. The list is WAAAYYYY too long to put here in it’s entirety, but my top three, other than pronounciation errors, are: Zuko’s scar was non-existant, Katara’s conflict with the water master was non-existant, and SOKKA WASN’T FUNNY!!! (it was way too serious, especially compared to the series).
btw, love the cartoon!
July 7th, 2010 at 2:38 pm
This. This is exactly how I felt when I looked at the casting and the reviews-they were enough to keep me away lol.
July 7th, 2010 at 3:57 pm
UGH. The movie sucked. They didnt even happen to mention Momo’s name! and @Emma B. EXACTLY. I was like FACEPALMFACEPALM during the entire movie. UGH. Stupid Shyamalongadingdong. -_-
July 7th, 2010 at 4:22 pm
The Last Airbender was a HUGE disappointment. I too am having a hard time understanding my they changed the character names to Soka, Ung, and Eeroh. They left out many details that made the series what it is, as noted above: no comic relief from sokka, no notation of the moon and ocean spirits being twi and la, none of the fire nation had those signature sideburns, princess Yue turning into the moon! How do they plan to explain Zuko’s unhappiness about how his scar marks him as such and such, when the scar is basically non-existent!? But you know, great cartoon series, can’t knock that.
July 7th, 2010 at 9:00 pm
lol It’s like that one episode where the group goes to see the play based on them and its horrible. XD I am so glad you posted this. It made my day. :D
July 7th, 2010 at 9:11 pm
it suuucks!!!! its a disgrace to the cartoon!!! and emma b,,,,,,,, i totally agree with you. SOKKA WASNT EVEN FUNNY!!! I was just waiting for toph to come and make her jokes. AND SADLY SHE NEVER DID. I HATE IT!!
July 7th, 2010 at 10:57 pm
*shrug* I thought it was pretty good with the exception of Katara being an annoying whiner and Sokka being WAY too intense all the time.
July 8th, 2010 at 2:28 am
I saw the commercial for it and I thought the visual effects were pretty good, and I’m a huge fan of the series. I never really thought of actually going to see it, but my friends invited me one day and I hadn’t seen them in forever and I missed them a lot, so I went… and it was… it was… so bad. I lost every last expectation for it after about five minutes. xD My friends and I just poked fun at it throughout the movie. I mean, what was that I don’t even… I can’t even…
Anyway, your comics are so cute! Keep it up! =)
Also, not to be like a shameless self-promotion plug, but I was wondering if you could review my comics? o: All the feedback I’ve had are just like, from my peers, but I’d really love to have a more professional take on it, if you could please just take a few minutes took look at it and tell me what you think? Thank you so much in advance! http://adventuresofnan.tumblr.com
July 8th, 2010 at 9:14 am
I haven’t seen it but with these so much negativity already influencing me. I’ll forget that i read through all of these and pass judgement when I see it.
July 8th, 2010 at 9:48 am
I walked out half-way through. I just couldn’t take anymore.
It was, hands down, thee worst movie I have ever seen or wasted $8 on for 3D that didn’t even 3D.
I should’ve gone with my instinct and not gone to see it, but, no, I gave that horrible excuse of a movie a chance >:C Screw you Hollywood! You destroyed everything that is sacred TT^TT
July 9th, 2010 at 11:02 am
I’ve seen the series and the movie. I thought it was a decent movie personally! I just didnt like a few things: The fact that they mispronounced the main characters name, the fact that the characters were so serious, and how much the cut down everything. BUT the fact they put Asif Manvi, a Daily Show correspondent, as the evil general, made me laugh and enjoy the movie a little more xD
July 9th, 2010 at 12:59 pm
I adore the tv series, I’ve seen every episode at least twice and but the movie? I couldn’t believe that movie, it was… all wrong. His name is Aang. Not Ong like thong. And wtf was up with cutting out all the important parts?? It was like they took my happiness and smacked it against a rock, ripped it in to bite size pieces and fed it to hungry wolverines. Okay so maybe I’m being overly dramatic but still.
July 10th, 2010 at 8:23 pm
I like how everyone’s talking/asking about why the names are pronounced funny, but completely ignored this post by Muffin:
“The reason the names were pronounced funny was because Mr. M. Night thought it’d be best to do the “proper” Asian pronunciation of them, rather than what everyone else knows them as.”
I love everyday cute though :3 I guess I won’t be seeing the movie haha.
July 11th, 2010 at 2:08 pm
Totally unrelated to anything:
Are all the readers of this comic female?
(o _ o)
I will never see that movie. I, instead, will waste my money on seeing Cera as Scott Pilgrim, in Wright’s adaptation of the best comic in the enitire angsty slacker comedy/drama(?) genre.
Amirite?
July 11th, 2010 at 3:04 pm
i had the weirdest felling that i did not wanna watch that movie… >->
and now i hear people saying it sucked!!! xD
July 11th, 2010 at 10:01 pm
thee movie is way better the kid they got to play aang looked so weird!!!and thee tatoo looked weird too
July 13th, 2010 at 1:09 am
I love the series, it’s amazing! But I watched the movie and it felt sort of disgraceful to watch. :C It didn’t look good in the behind the scenes…also I don’t find too many things the same.Dl Well, here are three (of the many) things I dislike about this movie. 1. Uncle Iroh wasn’t fat and jolly (He was so darn serious!). :’C 2. The pronunciations. I really hated them. 3. THE BEGINNING. It was absolutely NOTHING like the series. As a crazy avatar fan I rant about things like this. Dl
Anyways, on a finally positive note, it’s cool finding other people that like it. None of my friends like it/know about it. But hooray! It’s the best TV show evar. (In my opinion) Also I’m totally sorry for the long message. Surprisingly, I cut out stuff. >_<
July 13th, 2010 at 7:08 pm
JACKIE IS RIGHT! Team MICHAEL CERA
July 13th, 2010 at 11:12 pm
I just watched the movie today, I hated it D:
July 14th, 2010 at 12:42 pm
big fan of the cartoon..watch it on netflix.I was so happy the movie was comming out but i read the critics reviews of it…nothing above 2stars.Everyone says they pronounce the names wrong and dont follow the story of the actual show.and from the comercials…Zuko looks like some weird indian…This movie is a huge disapointment to avatar fans :(
July 15th, 2010 at 11:21 am
Oh come on. I liked this movie, but maybe that’s because I’ve never seen the cartoon. If you don’t compare the movie to the cartoon, it will probably be a lot better. I’ve always pretty much disliked anime anyway.
July 15th, 2010 at 8:48 pm
Okay, I saw every episode on Netflix in two days for that movie! I wasted two days of my summer that I will never get those two days back! I was SO dissapointed when they didn’t put the Kioshi Warriors, the spirit bear, Avatar Roku, and the big fish Water Avatar state monster in there!!!! the bending movements were complicated for making something so small like a ball of water, and the big wave at the end was probably the best effect there other than the fire coming off of uncle’s hands… The acting was pretty bad too! They did princess Yumi and uncle really well… I think they should of put Aang’s whole backstory at the beginning instead of throughout the movie… The pronunciations for Avvatar and Aang and Yumi were different from the cartoon too! Technically the entire thing was a disappointment….
July 16th, 2010 at 12:43 am
The movie was jank. >:/ End of story.
July 17th, 2010 at 2:16 am
This comic and all the comments makes me wanna see that movie more so i can make fun of it. :3
July 17th, 2010 at 1:15 pm
I HATED THE MOVIEEEE!!!
i am a BIG fan of Avatar (go Kataang!) but WTH! the guy who made the movie HAS watched the show, he decided to make it into a movie since he liked it so much, but he changed the name from AANG to like UNG or something bc he is asian and he thinks it SOUNDS BETTER
WOWWWWWW
DONT SEE IT!!!!
July 18th, 2010 at 11:44 am
The reason the names were pronounced differently is because the director wanted the names to be said like they would have in Asian countries. He wanted to give the show an Asian authentic feel to it. In other words, the names were being pronounced CORRECTLY.
The only problem I had with the movie, was with the fast pace of it all. Other than that, I thought the portrayal of the bending of the elements looked beautiful. It gave it a more art feel, rather than it seem like they all have superpowers.
July 18th, 2010 at 12:15 pm
I don’t know if it was just me, but I was bothered a lot by Noah Ringer’s overbite consuming the screen.
July 19th, 2010 at 2:48 pm
WHERE WAS THE CABBAGE GUY?!
July 19th, 2010 at 11:49 pm
what is up with aangs tatto on his forehead?!?! it looks like he has a disease or something.
my friend told me they even pronounce avatar wrong>:P btw m.night poop brains, U SUCK.
i havent even seen the movie, but i think it sucks like butt
July 20th, 2010 at 9:42 am
the show was better when it was called avatar the last air bender
July 20th, 2010 at 2:37 pm
The movie was a disgrace, and Avatar: The Last Airbender HAS to be my favorite. I even bought a Waterbender shirt to wear to the movie. I washed the shame off of it after I got home. :( *sigh* If they know what’s good for them, they won’t make more. Aang didn’t laugh the WHOLE movie, and Sokka didn’t crack ONE joke…
Sad cheeks.
July 21st, 2010 at 11:50 am
When I saw the previews, It turned me off the movie emeidiatley. I love the cartoon, and the movie looks soo poorly thought out and arranged. I will NOT waste my money on that movie, I would rather rent it cheap and watch it.
This comic, made it EPICLY win! XDDD
July 23rd, 2010 at 10:52 am
i havn’t seen the movie (yet) but after reading all the comments…i feel heart broken. I LOVE THE CARTOON SERIES!!! im a uber big fan. its one of the best shows on tv. i was so looking foward to seeing it. are you serious??? sokka didn’t crack one joke?!?! for shame. its…its just not right. here it is. IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT LIKE THE SERIES THEN DON’T MAKE THE MOVIE! right??
July 25th, 2010 at 10:06 pm
I hate it when the take a good show and make it into a crappy movie.! I mean., you’d figure they’d learn their lesson with the Dragon Ball incident.! Oh the shame Hollywood brings upon us..
July 26th, 2010 at 2:19 am
It’s sad when the animated zuko is sexier then the live action zuko.
July 27th, 2010 at 9:53 am
i was personally waiting for the big, humongous, water fish that he made in the cartoon to defeat the fire nation when they attacked the north pole… BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!! he just made some stupid wave… big whoop! :( :P
July 31st, 2010 at 11:02 am
I watched the movie last night…. i hated how they practically didnt even THINK about the characteristics of the cartoon characters! plus, the invasion scene reminded me of Lord of the Rings DX DX
July 31st, 2010 at 3:56 pm
I officially refuse to go see this movie. :D
I like how Toph is at a movie even though she can’t see. ;)
August 2nd, 2010 at 1:19 pm
It really was bad?? Aw poo. And i wanted to see it. I love Avatar D:
August 8th, 2010 at 7:19 am
It must have been bad if the audio was enough to send someone out of there
